all these lights just came on
My wife was driving her 1995 dodge stealth the other day. all of a sudden her radiator light comes on, battery light comes on, and her ebrake light comes on even though the ebrake was not on. any ideas? ok ok i know i should check coolant, battery charge, but beyond that spectrum what else should i do?
Are all three on very dimmly?
If so, this may be a sign of a failing alternator or battery.
If you know how to use a voltmeter, measure the battery with the car off, and then again with the car running.
Off should be ~12 Volts, Running should be ~ 14 Volts.
Make sure your battery terminals are corrosion free as well.
Let me know what you find.

i replaced the battery and now there aren't even any sparks. grounds are good and i cleaned the terminal on the cables. no sparks at all. i did unhook the old battery about a week ago. any ideas?

could be a dead alternator, was the battery fully charged? did u leave the battery on the ground, if so that drains out the battery. and when i had my talon tsi awd those same 3 lights came on, more than likely ur alternator is dead, do ur self a favor and dont buy an alternator from advance auto, i went through 5 palladiums they suck, get a bosch from pep boys.
okay i got the car started again. one of the leads on the + wasn't getting good contact. anyhow so i got the car running at 14 volts but the battery light still stays on. the radiator light as well is still on. i tried looking for the sensor on the overflow bottle but i couldn't find it. any more ideas out there?
checkers says that the alternator has little to no charge at all. i have intermediate wrenching abilities, suspension lifts, lockers, etc. can i swap the alternator in a home garage?
