We have a `92 R/T n/a and are experiencing a gas fume smell from the gas tank area. Until now, it has only been a smell of gas, but now we are noticing some leakage on the garage floor. Seems like it might be coming from the top of the tank as it only appears after the car is driven. Being an old car and a seemingly unpopular car for aftermarket support, I've been unable to locate a new tank other than the thousand dollar one from 3sx. Does anyone out there know of another supplier? Befoere I start looking at junk yards, can anyone tell me which cars,ie Es,or 3000gt shares the same tank? There's two on ebay, one for a 3000gt, the other for a sohc stealth, niether looks like mine. (mine has the dohc/n/a) Any info on the fuel tanks would be very appreciated!

 

All tanks are the same. I have a few extra. In over 12 years I have never seen a fuel tank itself leak. More that likely it is a rusted out fuel pump assembly.which sits in the top of the tank, a common issue
