Default Trying to Decide

hey everyone Im 17 and my car just craped out on me (94 toyota corolla-given to me as a gift for 16th birthday) and now im looking for a real car. I found this awesome 95 stealth r/t for sale near me. I dont know whether i should buy it or not. Where i live in rhode island we get a decent amount of snow. Can anyone tell me how these cars are in snow and maybe a little about stealths. I really dont know much about cars but i fell in love with this car when i saw it. it runs so smooth and sexy. The owner barely drove it it was just used for joy rides and stuff.

If anyone can tell me about dependability and what can be expected from a car like this it would be greatly appreciated

What I would first do is see how much insurance will cost you. Being 17 will hit you in the wallet. You can search several auto insurance sites and you will get a quote. My 18 year old son with 1 ticket was paying $1850 a year for full coverage with a $500 ded. That was the cheapest he could find. The highest was $4200. Who on earth would pay $4200 a year for insurance? I would be curious on what your rate would be. If you check please try to post back on what it will be. Do plenty of searching because it will vary. Good Luck!

I'm here in Iowa and i'm told we have the cheapest auto insurance rates. Your rate still seems too high. I happen to think that insurance company's are somewhat "sleazy". I haven't had a ticket or a claim in 20 years and I was notified last month that my insurance on my 2001 S-10 was going up 35% next month when it is up for renewal. I asked them why and they just told me that they needed to "update" my policy. What crap. I told him that I have been with them for 8 years and have never had a ticket or filed a claim. He told me it doesn't matter. I told him that's fine,i'm not going to renew my policy with him. I told him i'll just check other insurance sites on the internet. Sort of took him by surprise. That's my advice to you. I own 4 cars and all of them are insured with companys on the internet. This is what I said in the other post about checking other companys. Check around on the internet and I think you will be surprised how much money you can save. Theres one site where you fill out the form and they will give you a quote from several insurance company's. If you want to buy a policy you can do it right away and they will send you your policy plus the proof of insurance cards. My son only has liability insurance now and his yearly premium is less than $600. Hope this helps.

Usually if all you get is liability insurance it's the same price no matter what car you insure. It's the collision coverage that differs with each car. Collision can up your rates by 80% in some cases. This is why with older cars collision is not really worth it.
