Default Looking at a 92 Stealth... what should I know

Hello all!

A friend at work has convinced her husband to sell his 92 RT (not turbo). The car has an R title (rebuilt)... A pillar damage that has since been fixed but a totaled rebuild none the less.

Auto, power everything, 80K miles, the only real thing wrong with the car is an exhaust leak (flex pipe go figure), and the pass window won't go down (suspect the switch).

I've had a few Mopars (Charger, Ram Charger, Intrepid) but I know next to nothing about the Stealth. The price is right and my Frontier is really using a lot of gas so a second car for that reason alone seems like a good idea...

Anything specific that I should look for or know about the 92 RTs?

This will be a daily driver and project/toy so I plan on adding goodies when $$ allows.

Thanks for your input.

First thing is take it to an alignment shop if they have had to shim the suspencion to get it close to the factory settings dump this car and move on. How bad was it wrecked ??? The 92 had two bolt mains in the motor until June Builds which had the better crank and four bolt mains so the 92 motor is not as strong. Also the 92 have weak computers that die when the capasitors fry and mess up the main board $$$$$. If the car has a straight frame and is not rusting offer $1500-2000 no more yoy can buy a straight RT for $4000 on the www.autotrader.com Milage is a big deal as the cars do have allot of wear suspencion wise because they are a true sports car. High miles means worn everything and they ain't cheep cars to rebuild. P.S. Have the alignment guy check for shims and tell you what he finds tell him you suspect it was bent up so he will know what to look for.

You have to realize that with the salvage/rebuilt title, the car will never be worth much money regardless of how much you put into it. If you plan on driving it forever, no problems, but if you ever want to sell it, you will not recoup any monies spent.

Find out if the 60K service has been performed on the motor. (Tbelt, water pump, a few pulleys, etc.)
