Strange Stealth problem...
'91 DOHC. I get fire from the first coil (3,6) but none from the other two (1,4)(2,5). I've switched out the coils with no change in results. I tested the PTU, and it checks out OK. If anyone has experienced this problem, I'd sure like to hear from ya, my Stealth doesn't move so well on only 2 cylinders.
Can't really help you off of the top of my head. When I get home I will check the service manual troubleshooting area and see if a lack of spark is referenced. I am supposing that the plugs and plug wires are in working order...? Have you done any work to it or did this just start happening? Cam and crank angle sensors tell the coils (sensor/ecu/coils) when to fire. Did it maybe jump time.
I will check the manual when I get home and see what it says.

Near as I can tell reading the manual, it can be the crank angle sensor, ECU, PTU(power transmission unit), coils, plug wires or plugs. There are three resistors in the ECU that supply power to the three legs of the PTU and so on. If you have checked out the PTU, coils, plugs, and wires the ECU is about all that is left. I have heard of people replacing just the capacitors "recapped" in the ECU. I don't know if that pertains to the relays as well.
If you need them I can get the the ohm rating (for factory parts) of the coils and wires just to make sure you are in spec.
Let me know.

I do not have a clue.

Hey Alan, just posting through I see
Nice to see a familiar face (Alan92rttt and Stealthify) once in awhile
The 3si link Alan posted is the best resource (forum wise there are also some excellent private sites as well) on the net.
edited for poor choice of words.

Well, I would really check out the ECU. These are not well made (electronically) with enough cooling to keep them going. Probably you can set it aside in the drivers floor area and take off the cover. There is a large processing chip in side that takes a lot of heat. Take an Air Canister that you can get at Office Max for a couple of bucks and turn it upside down so the liquid comes out when it is sprayed. Spray it on the large chip and see after the frost clears if you can start your car. If things improve, you should either get a new ECU or maybe run without the cover for improved cooling. If nothing changes then there's no proof of anything, it still could be the ECU. Check out this web picture of the inside of a burned out ECU, that is dead (1991 Stealth). Sure hope that this is helpful.
