Default 93 stealth window leak

I just got a 1993 Dodge Stealth (base). Ya I know I could have found a better one but this thing has some major get up and go (definately not stock)... but anyways back to my problem. To show off the new paint job it acquired, I decided to give it a good cleanin. To my misfortune, I sat down and both seats were wet and there was water all over the inside of the window. However, the door seals look fine and new... is the window not being held in place good enough? Or am I just screwed?

your window may not be on track. however ive found that if you use a pressure washer the inside is going to get wet any way. if there is a problem with the cars body it should be easy enough to find, check the door jamb for epoxy that has been painted over or check the rear hatch. usually if there is a problem, it is that the rear quarter has been replaced poorly. last but not least make sure the window is all the way up. your power window motor may be tired, just ope the door and see if you can pull the window up any more than it goes on its own

try to find out the exact point where the water is coming in, use like a water gun or something. that will make it easier to work with.

i know that on my rear hatch that water gets caught in the outside of the lining. i guess i wouldn't call that a leak though.

Do you think that if the window is off track, that taking off the side of the door and making sure everything is nice and tight might fix it? The auto windows DO work, so I'm not sure if it can still be off track or not. Also, does anyone know if you are low on FREON if your defrosts should still work or not?

well roll your windows up and down slowly and observe vibrations or it "catching" on any places on both sides. and yeah b/c if your defroster cant get cold that would be FREON related.

But I think that my dad said for some reason the air compressor might be messed up and not taking out the moisture within the car? Or is he just offtrack?

that could be it also. perhaps you should seek a refurbished air compressor or a new one. but if your vents blow cold then its not FREON related.

i would try the freon first, that is much cheaper than the compressor. also most mechanics will check your system pretty cheaply.
