Default Engine Swap? and Wheels?

Engine swap:

Has any one swapped a new Mitsubishi Eclipse 3.8-liter MIVEC V6 with the six-speed manual in a Stealth (94)? I am "planning" on running this engine until it shoots craps. This will allow me (or my wife will then allow me.) to replace the engine. Does any one know how much fab work I am looking at? I am concidering a complete swap for a new V-6 and 6 speed. I will just look for a totaled Eclipse and go from there. I was also concidering the Nissan 3.5 from the 350 ZX, but I don't know how easy the bolt up would be, or how much fab work would be involved. I can build or have built all of the mounts or adapters that would be needed.

Wheels:

My '94 is the generic SOHC version with the 15" wheels. What is the stock wheel size for the Stealth? Bolt pattern, width and offset (back spacing)? I am going to start looking for wheels in the spring and would like to know exactly what I am looking for. Too many shops like to sell you wheels with the correct bolt pattern but the wrong offset. I will also probably order them as a wheel and tire package online.

Thanks,

Steve

I think the new Eclipse engine sits 180* different than ours. Not sure if it could be done, but it would be original.
For the SOHC Stealth, 15's are stock. For the DOHC, 16's are stock, 17's and 18's for the TT's, I cannot remember the offset right now. If I think of it, I will let you know.

that'd be creative and cool. go to a show and pop your hood to have everybody oooh and aahhh over a custom installed engine.

The engine sitting 180 out shouldn't make much difference as I am going to replace the tranny also. I am going to start watching the Eclipse boards shortly and try and get the frame and engine compartment dimensions from the gear heads there.

Later,

Steve
