1999 Stratus A/C Problems
Just in time for the weather to warm up, I'm not getting any cold air from the A/C. I had the compressor replaced two years ago, I've replaced the fuse, and I've tried recharging it, nothing has been successful. Usually I could hear the A/C kick on when I turned it on, now I don't hear anything, and the blower just blasts me with warm air. Any suggestions on what else I can look at?
prob low on refridge. can pick some up at the local parts store, no big deal to do. first check into a gasket replacment set. basicly just a bunch of rubber o-rings that goto/from the compressor and condensor core. make sure you clean the fittings (a paper towel will work) and lube the o-rings with oil (keeps them from getting pinched/cut when install, then leaking). last time i did this (96 neon) i found a kit that has lube and a sealer that you put into the a/c system before the r134a. worked perttey good for me. hope this helps, good luck.
Ck the a/c transducer and maybe bypass it. With your gauges hook up, isthe low side read a lot higher than the high side? If it does maybe you have a plug office in the line or a bad H-valve.
