Default Fuel Economy

Hey whats up,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out. I'm drive a 2000 Stratus SE, 2.4, Automatic as my everyday car. Seeing as I use the car everyday to commute back and forth to school and work, and seeing as the gas prices are as wonderful as they are, I'm looking to increase my MPG. I've been told to look into a new air filter, possibly an air intake set up, but what I haven't been able to find was a decent brand. Also, I'm considering looking into exhaust, but again I haven't been able to find any brands or suggestions. Any ideas?

Vinny

air fiters, as long as you stick with a name brand (like Fram ) are all about the same. give it tune up if you havn't done one in a while. the biggest help with fuel is tire press. every time you gas up check the tire press. keep in mind, the press needs to be checked with the tires "cold" (less than 5 miles before you check the press). if you go more than this, check it the same way EVERY time. as you drive the tires heat up, the press goes up. GOV stats say tire press kills 10% MPG across the us. happy motoring.

Thanks for the reply. I had read that somewhere and completely forgot about it. I'll keep a better eye on my pressure.

just a thought: new intake and exhaust may give you better mpg, but, how long will the gas $$ savingins take to pay off the new (and not too cheap) parts? drafting is FREE! happy motoring.
