Default What Do You Recomend?

Hey,

I'm new to this forum, I like it so far. It looks like I can find a lot of info about everything Dodge related. Anyways my story is I have a 96 Intrepid with 311,000 kms. And the engine is a 3.5L and it's in very bad condition. I'll be lucky if I can get $1000 for the car. I drive about 220 kms a day, to and from work. I'm looking to sell it and stay in the Dodge family. And go to a 4 cylinder car, and stay around the late 90s.So I'm curious if everyone would recomend the Neon or the Stratus. I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!!!

depends what you want out of the car. if it's just you in the ride (work car)and are looking for ga$ savings, get a neon. if you need a car to take people around (carpool), go for the bigger one.

the biggest issue you face is: can it make it to work? have it checked REAL good. look for the MLS (multi lay steel) head gasket on the 4 cyl, T-belt change (min every 160K km), and any codes that pop up (not all keep the CEL on). let us know what's up, good luck.

basiclly everything tom said. in my family we have 3 neons and a Sebring and a Stratus (same car...just different name). and i really like both. but the stratus SUCKS with gas mileage (compared to my Neon). and its the 2.4L. now then its a 2005 so they might have added some weight and such over the years. i like the older Stratus' but i would stay away from the ones with the 2.0L in them (early Stratus's had the same engine as the Neon) and well, in a car of its size and the power of the engine can only mean slow as heck.
