Default Ignition switch

Someone told me if I change the Ignition switch in my 2003 Dodge Stratus Coupe, I'd have to have my key reprogramed. Is that true?

Thanks

Thanks,

Here's the problem I'm having:

When I go to start my car I get nothing. No sound, and nothing lights up on the dash. Any suggestions?
