Default Drove through deep water now stalled

We were in a bad storm and drove through a large flooded puddle that was maybe 12 inches deep. We made it through the puddle but then it stalled. It will crank over but it won't fire. We put starting fluid in it, it started and ran crappy but only ran on the starting fluid. The fuel pump kicks on and the plugs and wires are dry. It got dark so we had to leave it and will go back early in the morning.

What could be wrong? HELP !!

um....try the crank sensor and cam. and also check the fuses. by the sound of it, it isn't getting any fuel to might also want to check the fuse and the fuel pressure.

STOP TRYING TO START THE CAR! There is water that entered in through theair cleaner into your system. You MUST take out all spark plugs then turn over the car with a key, for about 30 seconds (while spraying carb cleaner into the valve body) then put new spark plugs in... Then start the car ... After the car starts change your oil with in a few days.. If you have any questions call me in hawaii my name is Raynard 808-741-2919 aloha let me know

have a bud with a truck or big car tow you out to a dry spot. let it sit for24-48hrs and try starting. the "hydro-lock" happens when the intake sucks in water in place of air. more than prob the crank sensor (low on the motor) got soaked and blew a fuse and/or triped the ecu.

drain the oil, might be some water in the crank if you have some bad seals and the water seeped into the block (don't forget the tranny). discon all plugs that you can find and hit them with a hair dryer to get rid of all the water that WILL HAVE splashed into the eng area. some fuses might blow a few times before you get everything dried out. just trace the wires and find the connections to dry out.

look for codes. oh, by the way, year, eng/tranny combo? let us know.

It's been a month... I was just wondering what the prognosis was? 12" of water probably wasn't enough to suck water into the air intake. Sensor problem?
