Tranny swap
I've got a 95 Stratus ES with the 2.5 L engine and a blown tranny, and there's a fellow in my neighborhood with a 95 Cirrus 2.5L that he's parting out and it has a rebuilt tranny in it.
Does anyone know if I can swap these two? I went by the Chrysler dealer and when he pulled up the engine (don't know why he was looking @ the engine part # but he's the pro), it listed two 2.5L engines and he doesn't know why.
If no one knows for sure where could I read the part # off of the tranny or what should I be looking for to verify a match?
Anyhelp would be appreciated.

if it's from the same year it SHOULD be ok. the 2.5 V6 was installed before the 2.7 came out. make sure you get the trans comput and it has the saqme bolt pat, you should be good. i'd look into getting the trans a lower price rebuild (not a total tear down) before using. check all the sensor connections to make sure the wires will hook up too. the easy thing would be to get the VIN number the the other car and check at the parts counter to see if it's a diff trans or not, might be just a diff torque stall speed or gears. let us know.
