Gurgling sound on startup, only when it's cold.
Whenever I start my car up and there a little bit of cold outside, my car makes a gurgling sound. It's very obvious when I back out of my driveway, and as I start to accelerate forward, but after everything heats up it goes away. Also, doesn't really happen when it's over 50 degrees outside. The colder it gets, the louder the noise, and actually when it's really cold outside, there's a really deep, low pitch, whining sound, followed by the gurgling noise. The colder it is, the more severe it sounds. It's been doing it for a few winters now. I was concerned last winter, but when spring came, the sound completely disappeared.
Any ideas? Maybe power steering?

It seems my car (02' Stratus)also has this problem too! The sound makes you feel that thereare some sands in the engine. Only in cold weather is there this problem.
Anyone knows the cause? Thx!

since my car has been new, whether kept inside or out, warm or cold, when i start it, it makes a gurgling sound from the evap system...i believe it to be a common thing and not a problem. my car has been doing it for about 5 years, and 65,000 miles.
