Default 2002 stratus problems?

I have an engineoil leak that looks to be coming from the oil pan area. Not exactly sure where as there is oil all over the place and it is 5 degrees outside (not crawling under there!) I took it into the dealer today and explained that it was leaking about a quart every two weeks and I would like it fixed. They called back and said that the leak was coming from the transmission solenoid. I am not too mechanically knowledgeable with this vehicle so can someone explain how engine oil leaks from this? I know that there was a little transmission fluid on the garage floor so I can't argue that fact, however I also have a large amount of engine oil on the ground. Am I killing two birds with one stone or are they missing the main leak?

Car has a 3.0L in it. About 110,000 miles, 2002 stratus sedan se.

Thanks.

I have an '03 and have the same problem. Tranny shift solenoid is leaking and so is the oil pan area.

Oil pan isn't leaking that badly...but is leaking.

Very common4 spdtrans problem. You don't have to be to mechanically inclined to fix it. If your willing to drop the tranny pan to fix. Once you get in there, it cake.
