'03 Stratus 2.4L

While getting tires rotated, the dealership tells me that my tranny shift solenoid is leaking and will be around $340 to replace it.

I called a local tranny shop and they said they'd like to look at it before I'd let the dealership touch it as they tend to think that it's a hose that would need tightened.

Anybody have this problem?

If it is the solenoid, would you recommend buying it online and taking it to them to install? Much cheaper.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
