My daughters 1997 Stratus RT hood latch cable has broken and I cannot figure out how to pop the hood to replace it. The cable broke under the hood at the latch. Can anyone direct me as to how to get it open (with the least amount of destruction, that is)? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

If you can find another similar year , pop the hood and look , some have a loop that you can access thru the hood gap , I built a coathanger tool to open one when the cable broke , I put cardboard down and marked the location , then bent the tool to catch on the loop , then laid the cardboard on the stuck hood car and fished the tool thru it took hours to "catch" but did get it to open
