Default runs rough

i have a question for anyone who might be able to answer it.... i have a 1997 dodge stratus 2.4 4 cyld. i just had my water pump replaced and now all it wants to do is run really rough and want to die on me when im idle. it also does not want to start half the time.
can someone please tell me whats wrong?

Is there a check engine light ???
Theres a ton of things that can cause it a cel might narrow it down some

I'd get a can of seafoam and run that thru the intake first and see if that cleans things up might be a dirty IAC

will a bad iac cause it to overload on gas. cause when its started it has a strong smell of gas?

Idle air control can cause it to run rich

I just had the same problem, after replacing the water pump... did you ever find the solution? thanks

Hey correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not sure on that year car. But I have a 2002 2.4L DOHC engine. I had to remove the timing belt in order to get at the water pump. It's possible that the cam sprockets weren't aligned correctly and that could be the reason your running rough....

thanks I found out it's the timing belt not align correctly... it's all fixed now.
