Default 99 Stratus - Vibrates when Idling

I have a 99 Dodge Startus V6 Sedan, 4 speed auto trans which has 69K Miles on it.

Last week the engine started dying at stops and the dealer mechs diagnosed a faulty Crank sensor. Sensor replaced and engine does'nt die at stops now.

They also reported broken "Engine Mounts" (both Rt & Lt).
Both Mounts changed and also the front engine support (Rear support part was not available which they said will replace when available and the old one is still good)

All done, I drove home and now I have some new problems and questions for any of you who care to answer for me. Offcourse will be appreciated.

1. I could not get reasons for the broken eng. mounts. How and why do the mounts fail ??...

2. The car vibrates/shudders when Idling (I feel it is forw/backward vibrn.. and not side to side). It also shudders just before dying when I turn the engine off. What could be causing this..

3. The Car speed is not maintained as before when in cruise mode. It is varying by @ +/- 3 to 6 miles when driving uphill / down hill. Again, what could be causing this problem..

4. When I turn on the engine with the drivers door open, the dome lights are shimmering and turning On and off (while they r supposed to be on till I shut the door). No clue on this as well.

Guys, I appreciate if some one could help me to get my sleep back...

Default i have a stratus also

mine does the same shuddering when im idling i had mine diagnosed and its the EGR Valve much like the O2 sensor would do the same my advice for you is to take it to a auto parts store where they have the reader and the reader will tell you exactly whats wrong dont trust auto machanics instantly they like to make a buck not really fix the main issues at hand hope this helps. the lights flashing most likely could be the electrical isnt hooked up right or is faulty

Mounts break go bad with age. They're just rubber. The vibration may just seem new because of the new mounts allowing you to feel it.
