I have a 2001 Stratus SE w/ 2.4L.
Occasionally my dash lights and center console lights go dim, and then they come back on. Other times they go dim and stay dim. (Shorted wire?)
Also, in the center where it tells you what sort of MPG and fuel economy you're getting, occasionally it resets itself. Like, I'll turn it on and out of nowhere it is at 0.0 MPG. Any ideas on this?
Also, just how big is the gas tank? The net says it's a 16 gallon tank, but why am I sitting on E when I only pump 13 or 14 gallons in it? Misprint? Or is my tank sensor screwed up?
Also, if I was looking to increase HP and straight line time, what would be the easiest thing to do? Supercharger? Or turbo? Or something else?
Any help?
Thanks, Jordan

Might not be a sensor, on my 02 R/T it has a three gallon reserve, and if I push it I routinely put 15 gallons in on a fill up if I fill up the moment it's on E only about 13.
My Corvette was similar (18 gallon tank) Filling that bad boy up on premium was not fun, The corvette would net close to 30 MPG on the highway though and that where I did most of my driving, except for when I went to the drag strip, or sat in traffic.
I notice the fuel economy discrepancy between highway and city driving was not as wide for the stratus. I'd say 25-ish highway 21 city where as the vette was 30 highway, 18 city. Of course the corvette had a double over drive 6th (1500 RPM at 75 MPH) and a drag coefficient of .25 and it was a six speed. I think a Manuel gearbox in my stratus would really increase the fuel economy.
