I thought that was weird too! Even wierder, today on my way to my show the engine light had turned off again so no codes now. Hmm maybe I should go get it checked for codes again... the idle is pretty bad now and I have to rev it a little quite often to keep it running but it tuns great other than the idle thanx about the color!

Hmm I thought I posted this yesterday but I checked the post this morning and it wasnt here.
Anyway, I got a code reader from autozone and scanned my car. I think pep boys was maybe lying about the free code scan they did cuz they immediately told me there were no codes and they should do a full diagnosis for 89.99

When I scanned it, I got one code only, a P0300 which in my book that came with the scanner, means random engine misfires.

Well, sounds like one or both of the coil packs to me but still I wish I could test them before I buy them lol. Anybody in Los angeles with a 2005 strat I could try the coils on mine to see if that is the problem? lol

wow, after doing some googling, I guess a multiple misfire P0300 code can be many different things so I still dont know much about what is causing the code and rough idle

I have a set of used coil packs I'm selling for pretty cheap. One for $25 shipped, or both for $45 shipped. They were in good working order when removed.

I did a motor swap for a friend and kept all the parts from the original motor.

Let me know if you want to go that route.
