Default Code p442

Check engine light comes on but car runs fine. Reset the code it's fine for several days to a couple weeks and then it comes on again. P442 is the code it throws, any suggestions?

Do you mean replace it or just make sure it's tight.

You can have them pressure tested, but probably best just to replace it.

had same issue on my '02 SE 2.7 v-6.

replacement cap from dealer $15. didn't do anything, light came back on after a few days. found a few bad vac hoses under the hood, no change. my issue turned out be a dealer only vac hose assy above the gas tank.

i didn't have the time or space to do it. so the dealer dropped the tank (wait untill the check fuel light comes on as gas tanks get heavy when filled with fuel) and replaced the part. problem solved.

Same problem with my 02, dropped the tank, little epoxy problem solved. But check the gas cap first.
