Default Flashing of the onboard computer

Hey guys, just wondering how do I go about doing a flash on the on board computer? Also would like to know if the PCD stage 1 is worth buying?

What is a PCD stage 1? If its a chip, you'll be wasting your money, because this ECU seems to work its way around them. There was a guy on the 3G Eclipse forum doing ECU reflashes with good results, but I don't think he does it anymore.

Srry meant to add this to the other post, but can the flashing on the ecu be done by me or do I need to have a shop do it?

You will most likely need to take it to a shop that has the tools. I'm assuming by your question that you are not equipped to do this work yourself.
Also, don't waste your $ on that performance chip. I've never heard of anyone (besides the testimonials on their page) that got any favorable results from it.

Thanks for the feedback, But I have been reading some info on 3gclub and the reflashing can be done easily. I have the software and just bought the 1.3m cable to plug into my ecu. I will post the link so you guys can read. Hopefully I will be able to give you guys some postive news. Also will get dyno before tune, then after tune. Here is the link.

I'm not sure why he got out of it really. There haven't been any complaints from those who had it done on 2g. A friend of mine with a 2003 Auto R/T had it done, and it definitely added a little bit of power. He took it to get it DYNO'd recently, and the technician said he had never seen an air/fuel ratio as even on a car as his was.

Supposedly, it gave a small increase in fuel economy, a little hp boost, and a generally smoother running engine.

Thank you for letting me know about the so called power chips. You guys saved me some money. After reading a little more, I might just go ahead and have a shop tune it. Really not looking to kill my engine. Looks easy, but I think I will play it save.
