Default engine swap or rebuild

I was wondering if anyone here has swapped the motor from an 02 stratus r/t for the stealth 6g72? I would love to have a turbo or twin turbo for that matter stratus. I know there has to be huge room issues under the hood. I am wondering if I am better off takeing that twin turbo steath motor and ecu, or get the forged internals and build up the current motor. I am at a crossroads between building the r/t up to kick some ***, and still be a daily driver, or do I get rid of it and look into getting a more "tuneable" car for the money? Any advice would be appreciated, as i'm trying to figure out a plan before I start to spend money. Thanks a lot.

3000gt motor wont work with the Strat coupe. It sits the opposite direction in the car. If you want a fast car, you'll need to trade it in.

kang, as much as i love my stratus, it is what it is...and that is not a "fast" car.

mitsubishi loves using the same engine but flipping them, which is why a DSM engine wont drop into an evo..etc...youre not going to get any other engine in there without a tremendous amount of work...and unless you are a skilled fabricator, its going to cost you a fortune. There are options for a turbo or supercharger kit, but they are very very expensive when you consider the end results. for what it would cost me to get the stratus into the 13s, i could have the DSM in the 11s.

in short, the cost of making the stratus RT anywhere near as fast as even a stock mustang would end up costing as much as the stock mustang...for comparisons sake.

just an idea..roughly how much would you consider spending on the stratus?
