My Father has owned my old 2001 Stratus for three years now and is working hard to undermine all the TLC I put into it for the first six years of it's life. Supposedly the transmission housing was cracked and the "mechanic" swapped it out. My guess is he swapped out the entire tranny with a junk yard special. The car has never been the same. It shudders when you start it and when you let off the gas after a hard acceleration. My limited mechanical know how is telling me it has something to do with the tourque converter. It's a 2.7 L with an Autostick. 142,000 miles on synthetic oil...no sludge yet! Any guesses to the problem?
