I just bought a 2002 dodge stratus 4 door with 147000 miles, car runs almost perfect has brand new tires, new fuel pump which the guy said cost him $800 to install has the 2.7L motor i told told it is called a 2.7L Magnum please correct me if i'm wrong the only thing i found wrong with it is a dent on the front bumper and a dent on the drivers side rear panel nothing to serious interior is spotless and still smells new, i got it off a collage professor whose wife told him it was taking up to much room in the driveway and to get rid of it he put it on craigslist and 30 mins later i was handing him $700 cash Please tell me i got a good deal. I am very happy with this deal, i will include pics in my profile. Tell me what you think.

I bought my '00 about 2 years ago with 140,000mi for $1200. I figured if I could get a decent year out of it, with the intent of beating it within an inch of death (Pizza Delivery Vehicle) than it would owe me nothing. Well, I don't deliver pizza with it anymore, but it's still getting me to and from my day job. I now have 175,000mi and running strong, aiming for 200k
Work done:
TCM gasket - 1hr labor, $20 part.
Valve Cover gaskets - 3hr labor, $15
Alignment - $45
Tires, 4 all season, 2 snow - total $400
So, less than $500 parts/labor. 1,700 total cost (not include gas/oil change) over 2 years... Yeah, still a lot less than even most used car payments

Sounds like a good deal since it was probably the first or second owner of the car. On used cars with that kind of mileage it realy depends what kind of luck you have. I bought my wife a car few years ago. There was few minor problems with the car like peeling paint, small oil leak. When I got it home I found all the maintenance records in the glove box and realized that all maintenance was up to date. She already put 80k on it with with no major repairs except for the timing belt, brake pads, oil pan gasket, plugs, etc. The wife is still driving it every day.
Hopefully you will get at least 80k out of this deal.
