I have an '02 stratus with the 2.7 and 84k miles. Once it's good and warmed up, at idle my oil light is coming on, just an extra 100RPMs or so and it turns off. While stopped, going from drive to neutral will usually make the light turn off too, the rpm difference is very low. I've read a little on the oil sludge problems in these motors, is this whats happening here or could my oil pump be going bad? I'm not hearing any motor or lifter noise out of the ordinary.

 

There is a TSB for this problem. what you need to do is disconnect the oil pressure connector and remove the blank pin going into the connector. and maybe replace oil pressure switch. If the lite stills go on, then replace the oil pump.
