My buddy spun a bearing in his 2.7l dohc stratus (2001) and we rebuilt his motor, and now we're having trouble building oil pressure. We have the engine on an engine stand with the trans and starter hooked up, and we removed the oil pressure sending unit trying to try and prime and the engine before start up. We primed the oil pump according to the repair manual, and we cranked the motor over with the starter for approx 15 minutes over many intervals and no oil runs out of the oil sending unit hole... Does anyone have any suggestions??

 

update, we pulled the oil filter and spun the motor, oil shot out everywhere. So we said screw it lets drop it in. We dropped the motor in, cranked it over and oil pressure light went out almost right away!
