Rough Idling
Dodge Stratus SE 2.4L
I am experiencing rough idling, I have had several mechanics look at this problem and none seems to know why, on advice I have changed MAp Sensor, IAC Motor, Trottle position sensor, fuel pump and filter.
problem still persist, could this be a problem with my EGR Valve?
I am open for help in diagnosing this issue.
I have a P0601 code, but was advice that my idling was not due to this error code, and this problem started before this code showed up anyways.
PLease help.

Could be any number of things. Spark plugs. wires, (does the sedan have a distributor or coil packs?), MAF, Oxygen sensor, the list goes on unfortunately. It could even be a small vacuum leak. No real way to pin point it without a 'good' error code.
I had a rough idle last year. I change my plugs, wires and coil packs, no help.
Finely one day I sprayed some chem-tool carb cleaner(any carb cleaner is good) around the throttle body area for a bit and I heard the rpm go up. Tried again, same thing. Turns out a round piece that goes in the fron of the throttle body, held down by a screw had come loose and the screw was gone. Screwed that down and boom, codes went away and idle was great.
So check for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner!

I had the same kind of problem, I took off the IAC sensor sprayed some carb cleaner in it then blew it out with air, did this a couple of times (alot of crap came out) and it fixed it on my car, seems to start better in the cold weather to. Cheap and easy to do.
Problem Fixed
My timing was off by three teeth a mechanic from another Country was here on vacation and fixed my problem.
Thanks to all who made suggestions.
