Default new car?

Im thinking about purchasing an '05 Stratus R/T 3.0 5spd, was wanting to know if theres any specific things i should look out for? or things to listen for when driving? its only got 70K on the clock and their asking 5K? good deal?? thanks for the input.

is it normal for them to go out?, when is the interval change for it? 80k?, also ive been reading around, and this is suppose to be the same 3.0 that is in 3G eclipse GT? is that right...? i know its about 98% mitsubishi and 2$ dodge just wondering

Some peoples opinions differ on that subject. But the manufacturer may tell you 70-80 thousand miles. But if it were my car I would change at 60 thousand. Just my thought though. It is a real pain in the *** if it breaks. On some type of engines known as interference type engines if the belt goes while your driving you can do engine damage. My girls car went at 80,000 on the highway what a pain in the *** that was! It was noninterference type and I changed myself but it was down for a while and spent some bucks on parts...

is there anybody here who had done it themselves? im pretty mechanically inclined, performed some motor swaps, and am currently doing an SAS on my toyota pickup...just would be nice to see what im getting myself into if i do buy this car
