Help with A/C clutch
looking for help with a dodge stratus ac clutch. Clutch will engages when the car first starts and blows cold air while i am testing in the drive way but when i take it for a ride and get a block or so from the house it stops working. When i get it back to the house i test to see if i have power going to the clutch and i do. Can a clutch over heat and stop working? Is there an safety internal to the compesor that would stop it from working? If it is a clutch problem can the clutch just be replaced?
nope it doesn't have some kind of failsafe on the clutch. what you need to do is connect a scanner and read the A/C data like what does the computer see for pressures, a/c request signal and is the computer controlling the a/c clutch relay.
