Still haven't got an answer... Is the door switch that turns on the dome light have anything to do with the "strap" that keeps the door from swinging wide open? I thought it might in some way be controlled by the door closing on it. I still have the "door" light on my speedometer gauge, even though the door is closed tightly.

I just had the driver's door apart on my 99 Stratus. The stop strap has no electrical connections. The door ajar/dome light switch is on the door jamb just below the
door latch. The door ajar indicates one or more or the four doors are open.
