Unhappy 04 Stratus R/T 5spd with clutch issues

I have an 04 Stratus R/T 2.7 The problem I'm having is with the clutch. Most of the time it's really difficult to go into first gear, moving or at a stop, it doesn't matter. Also with the car at a stop and in first gear, the clutch "ALL" the way to the floor, the car shutters as though it's still trying to grab the gear like I'm letting the clutch out, but I'm not. I have never messed with clutches before, but from what I've read it doesn't sound like the clutch is going out. There's no slipping or burning smell which leadds me to believe it's something else that has to do with the clutch. Can anyone help me here???

Sounds like the clutch is dragging (not completely disengaging). The clutch is connected to the clutch fork by a cable. The cable is self adjusting. The adjuster in within the clutch cable assembly. Check the cable, and hope it isn't a bent fork.
