Default Help i think my stratus is confused

have a 2003 dodge stratus that decided to start leaking oil today. Why is it doing that?? I checked the oil yesterday and it was registering below the minimum line. I thought that meant it was a quart low on oil?? (it says that right on the dip stick) i drove it a good 3.5 hours right after i added a quart of oil, thinking i was in it to win it. today i noticed the leak so when i got home i checked the oil and the dip stick is registering above the max line??? 1ST of all WTF IS THAT ALL ABOUT?? How does that happen?? im not a mechanic but im not that much of a DIP. then i realized like maybe it could be because i havent had the oil changed in over like a year and a half?? i didnt even realize it had been that long since the heater core went out and then the transmission 2 months later. Could that cause a oil leak?? It is a DODGE so Im already looking into the public transportation thinking the motor is straight done....plus the engine is missing sometimes and on certain dayz when i turn the ac on it decides to pretend likes its going to stall and starts jumping at red lights but then somedayz it runs like it did when it was brand new AC full blast and all ... it has been over a year without any service DAMN NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD BE ABLE TO SAY THAT!!!so as long as i make sure it doesnt run completely out of oil it good?? Could it be something thats doesnt cost like $800 bucks?? Is it worth looking into and maybe getting the oil changed?? Or just ride it till the wheels fall off cuz its gonna need a new motor n e way?? LOL I SAY IF YOUR CAR SHOPPING BUY A STRATUS!!!

Welcome to DF
Do you know if the leak is coming from the front of the motor or the rear?
