Default Grinding noise from manual tranny

I have a 2003 dodge rt 2.7 5 spd and today on my way home the tranny made a grinding noise and wouldn't move when put into gear i tried going into reverse in order to get out of the road but i made the same grinding noise good thing i was down hill and just coasted in to a parking lot. I have been looking online in order to get some ideas of what i t might be and i have come to the conclusion that it might be the throw bearing. I just want i know if my conclusion is right. I know that i will have to change the clutch in the process ant help will be helpful though thank yall

It maybe the clutch that is gone. Can you shift transmission shifter without pushing the clutch? If you can,the clutch is gone.

it makes the grinding noise only when my foot is off the clutch pedal and i dont want to mess the tranny up (if it is already messed up) so i havnt tried to put it into gear after it first started to do that but the clutch had been on the fritz before this so thats y im thinking it the clutch and the throw bearing
(thank you for the reply)

The grinding sound could be the input shaft bearing. Have you ck the fluid level.
