Default need help with thermostat

I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus. The thermostat dial has different levels--1, 2, 3 and 4. 1, 2, and 3 don't work but 4 does, which is full blast. What is the problem and is it expensive to fix?

Had the same problem with my car, but had it fixed while under warranty.

An occasional problem on this vehicle is failure of the Blower Motor Resistor, 4 door sedan only. Failure of the Blower Motor Resistor may cause the fan to run only on high speed. The cost to repair the Blower Motor Resistor is estimated at $14.75 for parts and $32.50 for labor. All prices are estimates based on $65 per flat rate hour and do not include diagnostic time or any applicable sales tax.

when i worked for dodge, i dont think that there was a part more commonly replaced than the blower resistor.

Where is it located? Is it a do-it-yourself project?

I'd like to know the same thing - my fan just quit working on speeds 1 thru 3 but works on 4. Where is the blower motor resistor located? What steps does it take to replace, i.e. can I do it myself without a lot of knowledge, tools or do I have to take it to the dealership?

Thanks!

I believe it is replaced all as one unit. I had mine done under warranty service. I also belive there was a tsb on the blower resistor.
