Default Help diagnosing a problem.

I hope that someone can tell me if I have one big problem, or a bunch of little ones. I have a 2005 Stratus sedan with a X in the vin. I had started having problems when I got below a quarter tank of gas. It would sputter off idle, and occasionally stall with an error code of P0165, left bank lean. I worked around that problem by keeping the gas tank over a quarter tank. Now when it gets below a half tank of gas it's hard starting, and runs really rough with an error code of P0335, crankshaft position sensor. As soon as I fill it up with gas, it goes away. Does anyone have any idea of what might be going on? Thanks.

Welcome to DF
Ther is a flash for the P0335 code. But as for the fuel problem, you may need to drop the tank and remove or replace the fuel pump and inspect the inside of the fuel tank. Also replace the fuel filter too. SUBJECT:

Thanks for the information. However, tonight it also threw out a P0016 and a P0339 on top of the P0335. After reading my manual and considering that the car has 89,000 miles on it I think I need to get the timing belt changed in a hurry.

That was a heck of a lot of work for a $25 part. Well, actually a little more than that. The pretty
young girl at the parts store convinced me to replace some other stuff while I had it apart. I
cleared the codes, and I'll let you know if they come back. Thanks for your help.
