hey guys i have a 2000 dodge stratus, and just recently when i go to turn the wheel i can hear a loud squeal and at the same time the wheel almost pulsates you can almost feel the pump kicking in and out, so my question is, is this the pump going bad, or is it the rack? i dont know if there is a way to pinpoint it or not. Should i just go ahead and replace the pump? also the resevoir is full of fluid up to the mark. so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its a crap shoot, without a pressure gauge on the system. It could be either the pump or rack n pinion.
