You are right. I wasn't thinking of of a transverse motor.

Preferably to look over everything else wrong on ur car b4 u spend the money, including suspension, Tires, and brakes. and see if you would be better off buying another car.
The 2.7l V6 engnine is nothing but trouble on those car, and the Waterpump job is not cheap.
And if you decide to spend the money on the waterpump, ask ur mechanic to change the coolant Bleeder Housing while he's at it. Those tend to leak and requires you to pull the Intake Manifold off to replace. And of course, New Drive belts.

Honestly, I recommend you go pay a little more and do it at the Dealer(and ASK for lower price after because someone else quote u cheaper) or a Trusted Mechanic who knows what hes doing for this job. Skip the Midas that Couldn't even figure out what was leaking.
It took me whole day when i did it, and it Doesn't take much to screw up the whole job.

Today I went to midas and made sure I mentioned every possibilities around that waterpump to the block area and he is 100% sure that isnt my waterpump. He mentioned possibilities like could be a bracket or a nut etc... Now I dunno wth is going on.. He said they stumbled with the same problem im having from a different person before, and midas suggested to JB weld that small unknown hole.. In my opinion, that hole is there for a reason...so anymore ideas? Lol

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply.

Can you take a picture of the problem area? Did the shop do a pressure ck on the cooling system? And is the hole above or below the lower radiator hose?

Yeah, take a picture or take it to the dealer and ask for a free inspection.
If it is the waterpump drain, you Block off the hole, coolant will start leaking internal into ur Oil pan.

here are the pics, i know it sucks but if you have a 05 stratus, look where ur oil filter is, look forward to the corner and in between. see that dried green coolant in the hole? thats where the peephole and the coolant leak.
