hello all. im working on a 97 stratus 2.4 for a buddy. it will start and run when its cold, but warms up and shuts off and wont start again. if you let it sit for hours, it will start again but shut off after warming up. when its cold, i can hear the pump run loud and clear, then shut off and the car will start like it should. BUT when the car shuts off and i try to restart, i can just barely hear the pump run and it keeps on running till i turn off the key and will not start again. fuel pump, relay? im kinda stumped here. oh, no codes have shown up either. any and all help is appreciated. i gotta get this thing running and out of my garage! thank you in advance.

 

Check actual fuel pressure first and let us know so we don't chase you down the wrong path.

 

ok. what should the pressure be? if i remember right, hook on at the fuel rail...turn key on, but not start and should get a presure reading?
