Hi all. I bought my 2003 stratus rt coupe just a little over a month ago. When I bought the car I knew it needed some visual work but mainly bought it because it had a solid engine and tranny with relativly low miles. But now wouldnt you guess it I have a tranny problem. The other day it wouldn't return to center after downshifting from 5th or when upshifting from 2nd but I figured it just needed to be lubed so i did that and it worked fine. Now today on my way home I noticed it was a little harder to shift into some of the gears but the worst by far was 3rd. It would drop out of 3rd and go into neutral over half the time I went into it? I need some help/advice/recomendations of what to do or what to check out. As I stated before its a 2003 Stratus R/T Coupe with the 3.0 5 speed. Thanks in advance!

 

Have you check the shift cables? And is the clutch pedal. Very hard to push down or easy?

 

I didnt check the shift cables yet. Im kind of saving that as a last resort. Are they under the center console too or where? Would I have to replace them or just clean them or what? Because I havent found anywhere that has them. And I haven't noticed any difference in the clutch.
