have an 04 sedan 2.7 .was driving to work last night, car sounded a single chime and trip meter reset to 0(just have tripmeter in dash not the computer option),no lights came on dash,gauges normal,all fluids ok, car ran normal ,this morning no chime on way home.any ideas what it could be,? thanks

 

My car gives a single chime for my CEL. It seems weird that it would chime and reset your trip.

 

It could be a door ajar switch causing the chime to go off.

 

thanks for replying smokesxt and master tech. seemed weird to me also no cel ,low fuel,door warning nothing except 0 miles on trip, i leave it on trip meter most of time. autozone found no codes,checked all four doors, ajar seems to work,left each one ajar seperately and warning worked each time.hasn't done it again must have been a computer hiccup or gremlins,didn't no if car had a warning system like a truck i used to have each beep meant something
