Blinker Problems
After taking my car to the shop, I got it back and I now have no blinkers what’s so ever. I checked it with the car running and I am indeed getting power to the light fixture it’s self and all my fuses are good. My buddy asked if the bulbs were blown but there is no way that all 4 bulbs blew at once I have no blinker and no hazards either. Any suggestions on how to go about fixing this problem I need to get this car sold and I can’t sell it with any blinkers working. The shop that I took it too says that nothing they did would have made my blinkers not work.
We'll need to know more about your car, year, model, coupe/sedan.
Common reasons for blinkers not working is the flasher relay (location is different depending on what Stratus you have), the fuses blown. Keep in mind that the sockets are usually dual purpose, one for dim (driving lights) and one bright (turn signals), again, this can differ depending on what strat you have. I would go back to the shop again, and talk to the tech that worked on it, you know they were working when you dropped it off, find out what exactly was done to the car, what was disconnected, etc. Put your voltmeter on the sockets positive and ground, don't use the vehicle ground. I've seen cars that flashed by disconnecting the ground, not the positive, so there may be power but no ground and therefore not complete circuit.
BTW, if you're getting power to a socket, the bulb should work (I'm leaning towards you seeing the parking lights, not the blinkers). For the fun of it, try another bulb. Maybe if they disconnected the battery, there may have been a slight surge that blew them all at once??
