need help to identify part
2002 dodge stratus
2.4 engine i believe.
the part is coming for hose in air intake system and goes to what i thought was pcv valve.
i check pcv valves in stores..and nothing looks like it.

i took it off last nite and its built outta hard plastic and looks like tire valve on one end. it rattles when shook but no loose parts nothing comes out.


anyone know what this is?

Looks like the PCV to me. Make sure you're comparing it to the proper engine, The strat is a weird nameplate. The coupe and sedan are nearly 100% different.

and its not a pcv valve...... 4 auto stores and not a one looke nor fits in that hole. gah....

 

did you look at autozone try searching 2002 dodge strarus 2.4L SFI DOHC 4 cyl.. it looks like someone might have modified it with all that electrical tape on it

 

yeah i took part off and unwrapped it and its got numbers on part. soo tracking that down. the tape seems to be a temp fix to broken plastic intake on part. i dont think its a vacuum line...so sort of air intake. or regulator.. will keep you posted. i plan on take photos of the part off as well.

 

Both the coupe and sedan have 2.4 dohc engines. Keeping in mind that the coupe is actually a Mitsubishi Eclipse, they may have all showed you the part for the OTHER 2.4l engine.
