'03 Stratus R/T sport Transmission problem?

Hello, everyone.
My 03 stratus makes a semi violent sounding transition when shifting from reverse to drive only (automatic trans). From park to reverse: nothing concerning. From park to drive: nothing concerning. From reverse to drive: a violent shake/noise.
It doesn't exactly sound like a metal on metal jarring but it does sound like something is moving that should not be.
I had a friend shift for me as I looked/listened underneath the car and I noticed something moving back and forth (as if there were loose hardware) somewhere along the exhaust system. It moves way more than I would like it to, and I don't see why it should move AT ALL. I don't know if the tranny, being close to that particular area, is the culprit or what.
I have no reason to suspect anything else is wrong considering the problem only arises during the shifting I mentioned above.
Please, at your earliest convenience, help me out if possible!
I am completely stressed out over this as I know transmission problems are major.
Thanks,
sleepyd
