just had same issue with my 2000 stratus and finally resolved it today. i changed egr solenoid(also called egr transducer) which cost 26.99 at autozone and went ahead and changed my coolant tempature sensor , 16.99 and it completely fixed my problem... hope this helps ya out and hopefully it saves you from guess and spending money on things you dont need... Goodluck
