Gas Overflow

Gas Overflow
I have a 2004 dodge stratus.
my gas gauge is stuck on full and
it's always clicked ever .40 cents while pumping gas
but today it overflowed ever 1 cent
and it took me a good half hour to put in ten dollars
it was embarrassing and I'm sick of it.
then while driving back to work
which was literally a minuet down the road.
it stalled three times.
it's never done this before.
i just got a oil change and brand new tires not even a week ago too.
does anyone know what the problem is?
or how to fix it?
or should i just go get it checked out and get a price?
i know its gonna be a couple hundred.

The filler tube could be damaged, or have a clog in it. Fuel sounds like it's going into the evap system, which can cause issues, such as stalling and difficult fillups. If you're not comfortable dropping the tank down to see what's going on, it would best to have a mechanic look it over.
