Default 1996 Status: Stalling and Heat Problems

In late 2009 I was given a 1996 Dodge Stratus with only 47k miles. I now use it for a work car. I have 76k miles on it now. For the past few months I've been having some issues with the car. The car first started stalling on me when I would step off the accelerator and brake coming to a stop sign(no sputtering, just a simple stall, and with one turn of the key I was on my way again). Things got worse though as I began to stall while backing out and then eventually just starting the car first thing in the AM. The dealership suggested a new distributor because they've seen many older Stratus' have that be the issue. They didn't know for sure because my ECM wouldn't give them any codes. But he guaranteed me that was the issue. Well, it wasn't. The car got worse, it would start at all the next morning. So he said he's do other things on the house-- he then put a new crank sensor in. That didn't work. I got upset and he put two new tires on the car for the problem. It's hard to tell what the issue is because my ECM is donzo. I've heard multiple things from a handful of guys that know a thing or two. Unto the next problem. My heat hasn't been working since I got the car, but this is the first winter I'm drinking it. The AC works great, but the heater blows cold air out. Even after my 1hr work drive, still cold air. I know I need a flush BAD. An older gal gave me the car and I think she neglected simple things like that. I got several things done with it when I first got it-- with a flush being one of them. I think the garage half assed it and just put new coolant in and didn't flush a single thing. I went to fill it up the other day and realized that there is a thick layer of brown gunk at the bottom. I have to image their is a clog in the heater core because of it. So.. any ideas? I'm going to get a flush because I simply need it. If that fixes the heat, great. If not, onto the next idea. How much should a flush like that cost anyways?
