Default Another new guy

Old guy with several Dodges and one Chrysler. Looking for information on 01 Stratus R/T 3.0 auto. Car drove fine, went into store came out and now will not go. Starts fine, put in drive or reverse and nothing, slight rpm increase. Checked fluid and is full, clean and no burnt smell. Checked for codes and there are none. When put in auto stick mode will go from 1st to 2nd and can here solenoids buzzing but no drive. I did change plugs and wires early in the week, could I have bumped something that has come loose? Any help would be great. Thanks

Welcome to DF
I will move your post to the stratus section and the members maybe able to help you. But is sounds like broke inside the transmission or a valve body problem.

Well, we can eliminate it being in limp mode, that would lock it to 2nd gear only, no switching to 1st.

When it's in gear, and you step on the gas, does the engine rpm's go up but movement. It could be as simple as a clogged trans filter.

When it is in drive and you give it gas the rpm's do go up but no movement. Thanks for the suggestion of a clogged filter, I think that's where I'll start. Just looking for a good starting point . If the filter looks good where do you think I should look next? Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the wave spring broke. Very common on the V6 Auto. Best thing to do is head down to a transmission specialist. Id start hunting for used transmissions in the mean time. www.car-part.com is a great junkyard site.

Excellent info here, along with a few links. http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/inde...howtopic=37901
