Default Ball joints

Well, tis the season for balljoints. I just repalced the fronts on an 06 Dodge Ram, and put new control arms in the front of an 03 Neon. The tech at the free tire rotation place, told me I need rear ball joints on my 04 Stratus, 2.4 sxt with 134 K on the clock. I replaced the rear struts last summer. I hear a rattle from the rear, on a bumpy road. Something is going on back there.

Has anyone had to replace the rear ball joints on a stratus? I find this odd. Is this a DIY, has anyone done it? I see the control arm, lateral link and other stuff back there. What is the other stuff.

The upper control arm in the rear attaches to the rear Knuckle (at the top) with a ball joint. (I never knew there was a ball joint back there) I found this info in the Haynes repair manual.

The upper control arm balljoing usually goes bad on stratus. it could be a DIY if you have the proper tools. airtool, ball joint press, and Air Hammer/chiesel.
